Bellerbys College Oxford is a specialist centre for Art, Humanities and Law, specially set up for students with a passion for Art and Design and Media. We offer a choice of study pathways designed to prepare students for entry to and success at Britain’s leading art colleges and universities.

You can study Art and Design and Media Studies at several levels at Bellerbys Oxford. Whichever you choose, you’ll enjoy:

There’s a real buzz around Bellerbys Oxford. All of our students benefit from a wide range of specially organised enrichment activities, which enhance the creative atmosphere. These are practical, hands-on learning experiences that get you out of the classroom, applying your knowledge in fresh and stimulating ways. Recent examples include:

The Art, Design and Media study pathways available at Bellerbys College Oxford are:

GCSE pathways

GCSEs are the qualifications students in the UK must earn to progress to A Level study.

You can take art and media GCSEs as part of our 1-year GCSE programme and our Pre-GCSE programme, which offers additional English tuition for those whose IELTS scores need improvement. Our 1-year GCSE programme allows you to choose several GCSE subjects to study alongside art and media. This gives you a solid base of widely applicable skills and knowledge.

Age: For students aged 15+

Course length: 1 year (3 or 4 terms)

A Levels

'Advanced Levels' are the qualifications students need to get into universities and art schools in the UK. They are recognised around the world. In 2015, 45% of our A Level students progressed to the country’s top 15 universities.

You can study three or four A Levels as part of our A Level programmes, including art, media studies and photography.

Age: For students aged 15.5+

Course length: 2 years (between 5, 5.5 or 6 terms)

Art and Design Foundation course

Our tailored Art and Design Foundation course has many benefits for international students. It combines core skills, including research, analysis, presentation and university study skills. Students also learn specialist skills, such as group and independent design, photography and filmmaking as well as intensive English language tuition. This helps you gain very wide knowledge and practical experience to lead you onto the university or art school course you want to study.

Once you’ve completed your foundation course you’ll be able to progress to one of our destination universities, to study an arts degree. Bellerbys has over 70 university destinations to choose from – more than any other college in the UK.

Age: For students aged 16.5+

Course length: 1 year (3 terms)
