Bellerbys College London saw 56 participating students at this years' UKMT Maths Challenge.

What is the UKMT Maths Challenge?

Each year, students across the UK participate in the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust Maths Challenge. The UKMT organises the UK’s biggest mathematics competition, where top performing students nationally are awarded a gold, silver or bronze award. The highest performing students are invited to represent the UK in the International Mathematical Olympiad or to summer maths programmes.

This year, the UKMT Maths Challenge took place at Bellerbys College London on Tuesday the 8th of November, 2016. Fifty-six students participated in the event, marking the highest student participation Bellerbys College London has presented.

Students enjoyed food and drinks reception before the exam.

The event kicked started with a welcome reception hosted by Head of Maths, Alp Aslan. The atmosphere was vibrant as students enjoyed food and drink, socialising with other students and preparing for the exam.

Following the welcome reception, students sat the UKMT Maths Challenge, where they had to answer 25 intriguing maths questions. Students were focussed and all gave their best efforts to answer all questions within the allotted time.
